Duquesne got off to slow starts its last two games and never could catch up, resulting in a two-game losing streak.
The Dukes made sure that didn't happen again Wednesday night against DePaul, turning in an excellent first half and never looking back.
Duquesne led by as many as 15 points in the opening half and wound up beating DePaul, 66-55, at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
Dae Dae Grant and Joe Reece had 15 points apiece to lead Duquesne (8-3). Jimmy Clark III added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Quincy McGriff had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Dukes jumped out to an 18-8 lead, then turned it on late in the half and pushed the margin up to 34-19. They led 34-21 at the break, and DePaul (6-5) got no closer than eight points in the second half.
Duquesne has been at home for a while, with this being the Dukes' seventh consecutive home game. They've also go two more coming up -- against Indiana State and Winthrop -- before getting into Atlantic 10 play at Dayton on Dec. 28.
The Dukes' next game is Saturday against Indiana State, with a 2 p.m. tipoff.
