ALTOONA, Pa. -- Nearly one full year after landing the first commit for the class of 2024, Penn State finally picked up another one Tuesday.
Pittsburgh Central Catholic linebacker Anthony Speca, a 4-star prospect, announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder is rated the No. 9 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 26 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports.

Speca picked Penn State over Pitt, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, West Virginia and Florida State. Here's a look at all of his offers.
He was recruited by cornerbacks coach and defensive recruiting coordinator Terry Smith, the former Gateway High School coach who has done a tremendous job recruiting the Pittsburgh area during his time at Penn State. Smith is one of the top recruiters on the Lions' staff, most recently ranking No. 26 in the nation for the class of 2023.
The first commitment for the class of 2024 came from offensive lineman Cooper Cousins on Jan. 29, 2022. Cousins, from McDowell High School in Erie, is the No. 3 prospect in Pennsylvania and No. 8 offensive lineman in the nation for the class.
Cousins tipped off the Speca commitment by posting this on Twitter before his fellow class of 2024 teammate announced his decision:
