Ever get the sense that Sidney Crosby's on the verge of doing something ridiculous? In the best way possible, of course.
That feeling was immense during the third period Tuesday night at PPG Paints Arena. Not long after, it became reality, as he scored the fifth of five unanswered Penguins goals to beat the Blue Jackets, 5-4, in overtime.
And, man, did he ever get behind that one:
Look up blistering in the dictionary. It's just that clip on an eternal loop.
There's no high-level breakdown needed for this one, folks.
The Penguins had a 4-on-3 power play and took advantage. Evgeni Malkin slowly shimmied his way downhill through the middle of the ice to keep the Blue Jackets' coverage honest and, just as he's done so many times before, went across his body and fed Crosby at the right circle for a one-timer blast.
From there, all Crosby had to do was violently unload and put it in the right spot. Surprise, surprise: He did.
