RICHMOND, Va. -- When I was sketching this one up a couple weeks ago, I was thinking that this anecdote about Pitt’s first national championship, almost a century ago, might tie in nicely to a strong finish for the 2023 Panthers, with maybe a good, strong showing at the ACC Tournament. Unfortunately, the ride has turned out to be a good deal more bumpy. Hopefully their regular season resume is strong enough to see them earn a place in the 68-team field on Sunday evening!
