Crosby voted 'most complete player' by NHLPA again taken in Denver (Penguins)

DENVER -- For the fourth consecutive year, Sidney Crosby was recognized by his peers as being the most complete player in the NHL today.

The NHL Players' Association on Wednesday announced the results of its annual player poll, with 626 players across the league voting on 14 hockey-related questions.

The NHLPA received 591 votes for the "Who is the most complete player?" question, and Crosby received 178 votes (30.1%) to earn the honor. Boston's Patrice Bergeron (18.8%), Florida's Aleksander Barkov (17.1%), Edmonton's Connor McDavid (11%) and Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon (4.7%) also received votes.

This marked the fourth consecutive season in which Crosby was named the most complete player.

Crosby also received votes for the "In a must-win game, which forward do you think would be most impactful?" question. He finished second with 11% of the 599 votes. McDavid led with 59.3%.

Other questions in the poll were "If you need to win one game, who is the goalie you would want on your team?" with Tampa's Andrei Vasilevskiy winning with 52.3% of the votes. Colorado's Cale Makar was picked as the top defensemen in the game with 63.9% of the votes. The Rangers' Patrick Kane earned 46.1% of the votes to be named the best stick-handler. Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl was named best passer with 25% of the votes. Boston's Brad Marchand earned 36.5% of the votes for "Which player do you least enjoy playing against, but would like to have on your team?" Dallas' Joe Pavelski was picked as the player (forward or defenseman) who affects the game the most around the net with 21.4% of the votes. Barkov was named most underrated player with 23% of the votes.

Players were also asked which female player (past or present) they'd most like to play with, and Team Canada captain Marie-Philip Poulin won with 27.9% of the votes. Team USA's Hilary Knight was close behind with 20.5%.

Montreal's Bell Centre was voted the best ice in the NHL with 25% of the votes, and Las Vegas was voted the best city to have an off day with 31.7%.

There were 181 different players who received votes for the best player to have in a locker room, and Minnesota's Marc-Andre Fleury won with a 3.8% share. Toronto's Auston Matthews was picked as having the best shoes with 9.1% of the votes.
