ALTOONA, Pa. -- Penn State picked up its second commitment in four days, this one being the second prospect landed for the class of 2025.
Omari Gaines, a 3-star defensive back from St. Peters Prep in Sparta, N.J., announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Tuesday morning.

Gaines is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound safety. He has 3 stars on 247Sports, but none yet on any of the other major recruiting services because he's still just a sophomore.
Gaines chose the Lions over West Virginia, Syracuse, Rutgers, Ole Miss and Boston College.
Gaines said in his tweet that he's "1000% committed," but the class of 2025 is a long way off, so we'll see if he remains that way in the coming years.
The first commitment for Penn State's class of 2025 was 4-star offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews from Toms River North High School in New Jersey.
On Saturday, Penn State landed a class of 2024 commitment from 3-star tight end Luke Reynolds from Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. The Lions have the No. 18 class for 2024 so far, according to 247Sports.
