As part of his ‘I’m Score for Kids’ initiative, Evgeni Malkin committed to donating $710 for every point he recorded during the 2022-23 regular season to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown.
He finished the season with 83 points, his highest total in five seasons. That brought his donation to $58,930, which was matched by local McDonald's restaurants for a total of $117,860 being donated to RMHC of Pittsburgh and Morgantown.
"We’re so grateful that Evgeni Malkin launched the 'I'm Score for Kids' program to support Ronald McDonald House Charities," RMHC Chief Executive Officer Eleanor Reigel said via a release from the team, "and we're thrilled that local McDonald's restaurants decided to team up to help even more families as they face life's most difficult challenges."
"We're deeply moved by Evgeni Malkin's commitment to Ronald McDonald House," McDonald's owner and operator Joe Nyanko said. "That's why we've decided to match his donation dollar for dollar to help even more families stay close to each other and near the life-saving medical resources they need."
