RICHMOND, Va. -- The Penguins had high hopes for Marc-Andre Fleury when they drafted him first overall two decades ago this week, but the pick was a success beyond their wildest dreams, as he proved to be the first brick in a foundation that would deliver three Stanley Cup titles to Pittsburgh.
The team wound up with three surefire Hall of Famers (Fleury, Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby) and one "Hall of Very Gooder" (Jordan Staal) in four consecutive NHL drafts... an unbelievable streak, by any measure!
