RICHMOND, Va. -- Man, I miss the Expos. Their move worked out well for me geographically, at least, as having a team in DC means I can see an MLB game fairly easily... but I think baseball was better off with Montreal in the league. And being a uniform nerd, there's just no question that the Expos funky "elb" (yeah, I know it was an "M", but come on) was better than the Nats' improved but still pretty generic curly W.
Sadly, as is the case the Houston Oilers, Quebec Nordiques and Hartford Whalers, the Expos' wonderfully quirky logo and uniforms are lost to history, aside from the occasional gimmicky throwback night. They just don't make 'em like they used to!
While we're talking baseball, I had the opportunity to chat with the fine folks at the entertaining Baseball Bucket List podcast recently about all kinds of fun topics, including this very comic strip. You can find it here, and I'd be much obliged if you'd give it a listen!
