Minor-league report: Chen goes eight strong innings for Altoona taken in Downtown (Pirates)

INDIANAPOLIS (24-36) lost to Columbus, 7-3The Clippers posted 15 hits and benefitted from a four-run sixth inning. The Indians' lineup struck out 15 times, including 10 times to Clippers starter Darren McCaughan over 5 2/3 innings. 

Jake Lamb and Gilberto Celestino each hit solo home runs for Indianapolis.

ALTOONA (18-37) won at Richmond, 3-1. Altoona starter Po-Yo Chen allowed a solo homer and struck out nine in eight innings. He threw 87 pitches and 62 strikes.

Joe Perez and Carter Bins recorded RBI singles and Sammy Siani scored when Yoyner Fajardo walked with the bases loaded in the eighth.

GREENSBORO (31-23) lost to Jersey Shore, 7-4. Charles McAdoo hit a solo homer in the first. It's his second straight game with a homer. Maikol Escotto hit a three-run homer in the fourth.

Jersey Shore scored four runs in the fifth inning. All were charged to Greensboro starter WIlbur Dotel, who allowed seven runs on five hits and walked five in 4 1/3 innings. 

Jersey Shore starter Samuel Aldegheri struck out 10 in five innings.

BRADENTON (23-32) lost to Clearwater, 7-3. Keiner Delgado hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning for Bradenton, which posted just two hits total.

Bradenton committed five errors defensively. Eddy Rodriguez committed two at first base.
