RICHMOND, Va. -- I watched this one with my pal Blackie at our apartment in Kent, Ohio in the fun-filled summer of 1994. A lifelong Tribe fan, he was experiencing his first season with his team in the playoff conversation, nipping at the heels of the White Sox for the division lead and boasting several young superstars on the rise. I was as surly as he was excited, as the reality of the Pirates' fall from glory, my favorite players all taking the Three Rivers field in other teams' uniforms, really began to sink in... an experience that would become all too familiar in the coming years. Still, Pittsburgh put on a great show and supplied an amazing crowd, and it was an exciting game with a thrilling finish, which is just about all anyone can ask from the Midsummer Classic.
What does Tuesday night's contest have in store for us? You've gotta be excited about Paul Skenes getting the start if you have anything resembling a pulse! Just enjoy it, Bucs fans!
