THE SETUP

An interesting end to the series at Wrigley Field made heroes out of an unlikely bunch, at least for a day. We spoke to Derek Shelton on a Zoom call earlier and filed a breakdown of the Pirates' pregame roster moves, including Todd Frazier being designated for assignment. Mahle was supposed to go for the Reds on Sunday before their game was rained out in Cleveland. David Bell backed up his rotation a day, so the Buccos will see Jeff Hoffman and Sonny Gray at the end of the series. Alex Stumpf and I will have this one covered.
