THE SETUP

The Penguins earned the W in last night's game in Winnipeg with a 3-0 shutout of the Jets, and Dejan Kovacevic was there to cover it. They'll close out the 3-game road trip (and look for the sweep) with tonight's game in Chicago. The Penguins won't have a morning skate due to the back-to-back, so Mike Sullivan will meet with reporters at 5 p.m. Eastern. I'll have your coverage of all of it.

The Blackhawks will be retiring Marian Hossa's No. 81 tonight. That ceremony will take place prior to warmups at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.

It's a milestone night for Evgeni Malkin as he plays his 1,000th game tonight. I spoke with Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, and more of Malkin's teammates about some of their favorite memories of Malkin over the years and what exactly it is that sets him apart. You can read that here.
