THE SETUP
Not a great night for the Penguins in the standings last night. The Islanders beat the Capitals 2-1 in a shootout to increase their lead over the Penguins for the first wild card spot to five points. The Panthers beat the Maple Leafs 3-2 in overtime to move within one point back of the Penguins for the second wild card spot. Tonight's another big one.
The Penguins didn't practice yesterday, so there will be a full morning skate today. I'll cover that then the game by myself.
