THE SETUP

Pitt looks to rebound after its four game losing streak to end the regular season against a familiar foe in Boston College to start the ACC Tournament. The teams split the season series 1-1 with the Panthers winning at the Petersen Events Center and the Eagles winning at the Conte Forum. Pitt enters the ACC Tournament as the No. 12 seed, facing Boston College as the No. 13 seed, as the Panthers edged the Eagles do to a three-way tiebreaker with Louisville. Both teams rank at the bottom of the ACC in scoring, as the Panthers' 62 points per game is the worst in the conference and Boston College's 66.4 points per game average ranks 13th.

Pitt looks to avoid being one-and-done in the ACC Tournament for a second consecutive year after the team won at least one tournament game in both of the program's first two seasons with Jeff Capel as head coach. One major difference in this game will be John Hugley IV, who scored a career-high 32 points in Pitt's win over Boston College, but only nine points in the Panthers' loss to the Eagles.

Hugley said Monday after Pitt's practice at the Barclays Center that he felt good about how the team has looked going into Tuesday.

"It was a great practice," Hugley said. "We had great energy. There's a great vibe in the locker room. We're ready to go out and get the win. We have to go out there and execute. Focus on winning so we can advance to the next day."
