THE SETUP
The Panthers finish their regular season with a chance to earn a winning record for the first time since Jamie Dixon's last season of 2015-2016. But they'll have a tall task beating Clemson, whose defense is the second-best in the ACC, allowing only 61.8 points per game and holding opponents' field goal percentage to 41.2. Where Pitt could make a difference in this game is with its own defense that ranks fifth in the conference with allowing 69.4 points per game, while Clemson's offense ranks last in the ACC with 64.8 points per game. But the Panthers' defense has stepped up the last two games allowing an average of 61 points since Xavier Johnson and Au'Diese Toney entered the transfer portal.
