THE SETUP

Pitt basketball is riding its longest win streak of the season, and only its second three-game win streak against ACC opponents since the 2013-2014 season. Jeff Capel has his players playing better defense, allowing only 62.3 points per game during the win streak compared to the 66.5 rate from the entire season. But after pulling off a major upset over North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. Wednesday, Pitt has to show emotional maturity in following up a strong showing against a major opponent with another strong showing against the team that's ranked dead last in the ACC. The Panthers have seen increased production from Ithiel Horton, who's hit five or more three-pointers in two of Pitt's last three games. They've also seen John Hugley IV with back-to-back strong games scoring 21 against N.C. State last Saturday and 18 against North Carolina Wednesday, as well as setting a career high with six assists against the Tar Heels.

Gates open to the media at 5:00 p.m. Follow along with my coverage from the Petersen Events Center here.
