THE SETUP

Pitt is coming off its first ACC win of the season in a 69-67 win over Boston College that went down to the wire. All of the Panthers' ACC contests have been decided by a single possession with missed and made buzzer beaters for each game. Now they face a struggling Syracuse team that's lost three straight to fall to a losing record. It's the first ACC opponent Pitt has faced this season that's had a losing record and a chance for Pitt to stack wins in an effort to climb back to .500. But the Panthers have only won a single game away from the Petersen Events Center with their win over St. John's at Madison Square Garden back on Dec. 18.
