THE SETUP
Pitt got a big ACC win Saturday over Louisville at the Petersen Events Center for its first ACC rematch, and now gets to play Virginia for its second. The Cavaliers beat Pitt by a single point in Charlottesville, Va. in Dec. 3 in a game that went down to the last shot just like Pitt's earlier loss to Louisville. The Panthers haven't won back-to-back ACC games since one year ago to the day, when the Panthers beat Duke 79-73 at the Petersen Events Center on Jan. 19, 2021. A year after Justin Champagnie declared "Pitt is back" after beating the Blue Devils, the Panthers are in the middle of a rebuild, but can show another sign of improvement with a win over one of the ACC's top coaches in Tony Bennett.
Gates open to the media at 7:00 p.m. Follow along with my coverage from the Petersen Events Center here.
