Former Duquesne University women's basketball forward PreciousJohnson has earned a spot on the Sweden Women's National Team and will represent her country at the 2025 Women's European Basketball Championships in Germany.
Johnson, a native of Helsingborg, Sweden, is one of five players on the Sweden national team making their EuroBasket debuts. She signed a professional contract with TARR KSC Szekszárd in August of 2024 and later played for David Kornel Basketball Academy, both in which compete in the Hungary-A Division.
In 13 games with David Kornel, Johnson is averaging 13.7 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. She has recorded four double-doubles and reached double figures in scoring in nine games, including a season-high performance of 23 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Darazsak. The Sweden native has pulled down 10 or more rebounds in five games, including two with 15 or more. Notably, in just her second game with the team, she grabbed 17 rebounds and added nine points.
Over five seasons with the Dukes, Johnson consistently filled the stat sheet and left her mark on the program's record books. She shot 51.7 percent from the field (424-for-820), ranking second all-time at Duquesne, while her 158 career blocks are the fourth-most in program history. Earlier in the 2023-24 season, she recorded a career-high eight blocks in a game at Howard, tying the program's single-game record. Johnson surpassed the 1,000-point milestone in her final season on the Bluff, finishing with 1,039 points - 30th in school history. She also wrapped up her career with 639 rebounds, 65 steals, and a 70.0 percent success rate (160-for-229) from the free-throw line.
Sweden is placed in Group D alongside Spain, Germany, and Great Britain, with all group-stage matches set to be played in Hamburg, Germany. The EuroBasket Championship will take place across four countries: Germany, Italy, Greece, and the Czech Republic - beginning on June 18. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, while the third- and fourth-place teams will be eliminated. Group-stage games will run from June 18-23, followed by the playoff rounds from June 24-29.
