Manchester City won the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium, with a 1-0 win over Chelsea. It was an uneventful affair, with a struggling Chelsea side holding level until the 70th minute when Antoine Semenyo executed a back-heelfinish off a service by Erling Haaland:
Chelsea at least have a head coach for next season, with the club announcing the signing former Real Madrid gaffer Xabi Alonso to a four-year deal, shortly after Saturday's match.
My take: That was about it for excitement. A nice addition to the trophy case for Man City, but they have no use for the Europa League berth that comes with it, though the £2.1 million will come in handy when they pay their fines for the 115 charges for rules violations. All that said, they still have a shot at the Premier League title, just two points shy of Arsenal, each with two matches remaining.
