The Mets continue to search for answers after the bullpen collapsed Tuesday, blowing a 3-0 lead to lose 5-3 to the Twins at Citi Field, the team's 12th straight loss.
The Twins broke the tie in the ninth, getting two runs off closer Devin Williams, who walked three and yielded two hits.
The $370-million Mets are now 7-16.
My take: If a team's going to lose 12 straight, this is the best part of the season to do it. Plenty of time. Plenty of talent. And in the grand scheme, just 8.5 games back of the first-place Braves. Still, return on investment has been dreadful, considering the near billion dollars spent on overall payroll the last three seasons.
