The Avalanche remain undefeated in this year's playoffs, winning their sixth straight game, beating the Wild, 5-2, at Ball Arena in Denver, to take a 2-0 series lead.
The Wild tried to run-and gun with the Avs in Game 1, losing, 9-5, but they got back to their game Tuesday, outshooting Colorado, 31-23. Not good enough, though, as Scott Wedgewood turned back 29 of them, while the Avs put four of 22 shots past Filip Gustavsson.
The series now moves to Saint Paul, Minn. for Games 3 and 4.
My take: The Wild were much better than Game 1, but taking five penalties (to one for Colorado) was ill-advised.They're definitely good enough to at least take a game or two off the Avs, but if Game 3 doesn't go their way, we might see another sweep.
