Pro Football Hall of Fame president Jim Porter announced Friday that several rules changes may be considered after controversy surrounding the veterans, coaches and builders ballot, though Porter was quick to say the changes are not specific to Bill Belichick's exclusion this year.
Potential changes include:
• A return to in-person discussion and voting, which has been virtual since the COVID pandemic. • Replace voting members who violated confidentiality rules or intentionally excluded candidates for reasons beyond the rules. • Delay voting until closer to the NFL Honors • Releasing vote totals and individual ballots
Porter said he was not considering separating veterans, coaches and builders from the same ballot.
My take: Remember, none of this has anything to do with the Belichick vote. They would like you to repeat that until you believe it.
