There was some drama Saturday in the NCAA Tournament, but in the end it was only No. 11 Texas who advanced to the Sweet 16 that was not a four-seed or higher. The Longhorns toppled No. 3 Gonzaga, 74-68, at Moda Center in Portland, Ore.
Texas is hardly a 'surprise' either. Despite the seed, they are a highly-funded program coached by Pittsburgh's own Sean Miller, who is going to his ninth Sweet 16 with his third program (Xavier, Arizona), but his first since 2017.
My take: No real Cinderellas just yet, but there will be a heavier schedule Sunday, though none of them are double-digit seeds. A couples 6s or 7s might eke in, but it's a top-heavy year.
