There was concern when Christian Pulisic was subbed out to start the second half of the U.S. team's 4-1 win over Paraguay, with Pulisic on good form in the first 45.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino said post-match that it was a precautionary move. "[Pulisic] received a kick in his calf," he said. "At the end of the first half, he [started] to feel tight ... I hope that it is not a big issue and that he can be ready for the next one."
Pulsic spoke post-match, adding, "I don't think it's anything at all. ... I just got a bit of a kick in the first half. ... Taking a little bit of precaution today, but I'm hoping I'll be fine the next few days."
My take: So does the U.S., whose chances of a respectable run in the tournament rely heavily on Pulisic playing often and well.
