Former major-league pitcher Dan Serafini was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole eligibility for the 2021 murder of his father-in law and the shooting of his mother-in-law at their Lake Tahoe home.
Prior to sentencing, Serafini again protested his innocence to the judge, despite two retrial appeals being denied.
Serafini played for five MLB franchises from 1996 to 2007, including 11 appearances for the Pirates in 2000.
