The Ravens have agreed to terms with former Bengals EDGE Trey Hendrickson on a four-year, $112 Million contract. The deal includes a $20-million signing bonus and $60 million is fully guaranteed. There are $8 million in incentives that could bring the total value to $120 million.
Baltimore needed a solution after backing out of the Maxx Crosby trade Tuesday, with reports emerging Wednesday that the Ravens were concerned about the long-term health of Crosby's knee after his physical.
Hendrickson, 31, missed 10 games last season with a core-muscle injury, but had 17.5 sacks in both 2023 and 2024. He has 81 career sacks, 15 forced fumbles and 16 passes defensed in 117 games with the Saints and Bengals. He was an All-Pro in 2024 and has been selected to four Pro Bowls.
My take: Really the only thing the Ravens could do, if they wanted any kind of pass rush this season. The question will be what Hendrickson's production will be at age 31, coming off the core injury. It's good structure on the contract by Baltimore, giving them flexibility to cut Hendrickson if it doesn't work out and not have to eat a ton of dead cap.
