It wasn't explosive, with two singles and two sacrifice flies plating six of the eight runs, the final two coming on a home run by Alec Burleson.
Mars Area High School grad and WVU alum JJ Wetherholt made his major-league debut with St. Louis, batting second. In his second MLB at-bat, he did this:
My take: What a swing. Goes middle of the field with a 95 mph fastball off the plate outside, which he can easily reach because of how well he stays behind the ball. He's only 5'9." One to keep your eye on this season.
