Defenseman Quinn Hughes had two goals — his first two of the series — and an assist, with his second goal being the game-winner at 10:38 of the third period, a deflection off the skate of Stars defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin:
Matt Boldy iced it with two empty-netters, finishing off a strong series with his fifth and sixth goals.
The Wild now advance to face the Presidents Trophy-winning Avalanche, who swept the Kings in their first-round series.
My take: Good for the Wild and their fans, and a huge disappointment for the Stars faithful after three consecutive conference final appearances — maybe they shouldn't have fired Peter DeBoer, huh? Glen Gulutzen was supposed to take them to the promised land, but his 50-win season ended with just two playoff-game wins.
