No one is above the rules at Augusta National. Former Open Champion Mark Calcavecchia was escorted off the grounds during Wednesday's practice sessions and Par-3 Contest after he was seen using a cell phone, which are strictly forbidden on the grounds and in the clubhouse during tournament week.
Calcavecchia left without incident and later said he respected the club's decision to remove him and that he had nothing bad to say about the club or tournament.
My take: There's nothing more egalitarian than that place ... except becoming a member.
