The National Hockey league has stripped the Golden Knights of their 2026 second-round pick and fined head coach John Tortorella $100,000 for flagrant violations of playoff media regulations.
The league cited Vegas did not open its lover room to media after their Game 6, series-clinching win over the Ducks Thursday night, and Tortorella not addressing the media postgame. The league said it was not the first time the team had violated themedia policy and several warnings had been issued.
The Golden Knights issued no comment on the penalty.
My take: Just follow the rules. How hard can that be? Not like it was a devastating loss or something — still inexcusable but more understandable. Torts at the center of it makes sense.
