The Browns are attempting to shore up their offensive line, acquiring versatile tackle Tytus Howard from the Texans for a 2026 fifth-round pick.
Howard, who has one year remaining on his contract, received a three-year, $63-million extension from the Browns, keeping him under contract through 2029.
Howard is expected to play right tackle but is versatile enough to play left. Pro Football Focus ranked him 17th of 89 tackles in pass blocking in 2025, but 79th in run blocking.
My take: A bad line just got better. Howard is a good tackle and was arguably the best player on the Texans' line last year — not a high bar — but making him the fifth-highest paid right tackle in the NFL? We'll see.
