Reports emerged Wednesday that Eagles outside linebacker Nolan Smith was arrested on Friday, May 15, for excessive speed and reckless driving in Twiggs County, Georgia. Smith's booking documents record him going 137 miles per hour in a 70 miles-per-hour zone.
The former University of Georgia star, a school riddled for years with excessive speed arrests on the football team, was previously arrested in Georgia in January 2022, for excessive speed — 89 miles per hour — in a construction zone while on a suspended license.
My take: Just another in a long line of Georgia players to drive recklessly. One would think that having a teammate and staff member killed while drag racing another car driven by another teammate, would give one pause. Apparently not. Think one would learn from Henry Ruggs killing a woman and her dog. Nope. Myles Garrett has nine excessive speed citations and arrests in Ohio since 2017. Jordan Addison. Rashee Rice.
