Canada's Cyle Larin scored in the 79th minute to scratch its way onto a draw, 1-1, with Bosnia Herzegovina in the co-host's opening match of the FIFA World Cup at Toronto Stadium in Ontario, Canada.
Larin received a service right in front of the goal box, controlled it with a defender on him, spun with control and shot, his ball deflecting off the defender's hip and past goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.
Bosnia Herzegovina forward Jovo Lukić scored in the 21st minute on header off a corner kick.
My take: The match had little flow — there were 30 total fouls (20 by BIH) — but the Canadians really picked it up after the tying goal. Had it been an elimination game with an extra 30 minutes after the regulation draw, Canada was likely to win as they were building to score again.
