Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch revealed Saturday that Connor McDavid played the playoff series against the Ducks, with a fracture in the foot and ankle area, suffered in a. collision early in the second period of Game 2.
Neither Knoblauch nor McDavid indicated that surgery would be required. McDavid, however, said the injury really limited him in the series. "Yeah, my advantage is my speed burst, you know, that quick step," McDavid said. "I had none of that."
My take: McDavid's injury was evident but that doesn't account for everyone else who failed to perform against the Ducks.
