We know the three teams who will be atop the Atlantic Division — Sabres, Canadiens, Lightning — but the order is still undetermined. The Canadiens' win Sunday over the Islanders put them in a tie with the Sabres at the top with 106 points, though the Sabres have one game in hand. As do the Lightning, who are two points back at 104.
• Tampa Bay has the Red Wings on Monday and Rangers Wednesday, each a home game. • Buffalo has the Blackhawks on the road and the Stars at home, same days as the Lightning. • Montreal is at the Flyers on Tuesday
My take: This means everything. Whoever comes in second and third will have to face each other, meaning one is going home in the first round after 50 (or near 50) win seasons.
