All Big 12 athletic directors appeared on a conference call Wednesday with conference commissioner Brett Yormack, with all but Texas Tech's Kirby Hocutt making it very clear they do not want Brendan Sorsby playing this season.
Yormack released a statement after the call, saying, "We had a thoughtful and productive conversation with our athletics directors today as we continue to work through the broader implications of this situation. Many of our athletics directors voiced their opinions. We will continue to have open and honest dialogue amongst the group and until there is something to report, these conversations will remain within the conference."
An ESPN report said the conference may have the ability to punish Sorsby or Texas Tech under its bylaw 3.6, which allows "prohibitions on appearance in postseason events or televised events, restrictions on revenue distributions and limitations on recruiting or scholarships."

My take: This is going to get uglier.
