Four South Alabama players — Amarr Knox, Shawn Fulcher, Corey Hines and Tony Madlock — who participated in the 2025 NCAA Tournament have been ruled permanently ineligible after an NCAA investigation determined they collectively accepted $2,000 from two bettors to throw a regular-season game against Southern Mississippi in December 2024.
While under investigation, none of the players were active last season. There has been no reporting on whether any of the players will be criminally charged. The two bettors were indicted in January on federal charges of bribery and wire fraud.
