Finland scored four times in the third period — twice into an empty net — to defeat Slovakia, 6-2, at Milano Santagiulia Arena, to win the bronze medal in men's hockey.
Erik Haula scored twice, including the eventual game-winner at 8:05 of the second period. Sebastian Aho, Roope Hintz, Kaapo Kakko and Joel Armia had the other goals. Tomas Tatar scored for Slovakia.
My take: The Slovaks were strong in the preliminary round, earning the No. 3 seed into the eliminations round, but Finland rounded into form after the first couple games and finished with a dominant performance that highlighted the creativity and skill that had them in the gold-medal conversation ahead of the Games.
