Mike Trout entered Yankee Stadium on Monday, scuffling for the Angels and trying to unlock his three-time MVP form. According to manager Kurt Suzuki, Trout employed a mechanical tweak prior to the first game against the Yankees. It worked.
Trout hit five home runs in the four-games, two in the first and one each in the other three, capped off with this 446-foot blast to the nether regions of left-center field:
Trout had six hits and nine RBIs in the series, while boosting his OPS from .328 to 1.010.
My take: It's been a while since we've seen vintage Trout. Sure hope this sticks. Best player of his generation when he's right, though Aaron Judge keeps making his case — four home runs of his own in the series.
