No. 9 Iowa defeated defending champion and No.1-seed Florida, 73-72, at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, on an Alvaro Folgueiras three-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining:
Like St. John's earlier in the day, it is Iowa's first trip to the Sweet 16 since 1999. Iowa will face No. 4 Nebraska in a Big Ten matchup at Toyota Center in Houston, to reach the Elite Eight. The other South Regional matchup is between No. 3 Illinois and No. 2 Houston.
My take: An actual upset. Iowa's a good program, of course, but many had Florida repeating as champions.
