With just over a week remaining until the new league year begins, EDGE Khalil Mack announced Monday that he intends to play in 2026, after considering retirement. He will be an unrestricted free agent and said he will consider his options before finding the right fit.
Mack, 35, missed four games last season due to an elbow dislocation in Week 2. Despite returning, he played with a brace on the arm for the final 10 games for the Chargers. The three-time First Team All-Pro finished with 5.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 12 games.
My take: Mack is missing a Super Bowl on his Hall of Fame resume. He doesn't need it to get in, but he wants the ultimate prize, so his ideal situation will be on a contender. I can even see him waiting until in-season to make a decision on who he's going to chase a ring with.
