Well, the Big Ten can't win everything. The University of Denver defeated Wisconsin, 2-1, to win the Frozen Four at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Freshman Kyle Chyzowski scored on a tip-in with 5:52 remaining in the game, breaking the 1-1 tie, the eventual game-winner securing the Pioneers' third NCAA championship in five years.

As he did against No.1 Michigan, Denver goalie Johnny Hicks was stellar, making 29 saves on 30 shots against the Badgers, after making 49 saves against the Wolverines in the double-OT semifinal win. For his efforts, Hicks was named the Frozen Four's Most Outstanding Player.
My take: What a tournament. Some really exceptional drama and terrific hockey. The college game (even more now now, with the eligibility of juniors players) has really improved. Great stuff. Congrats to the Pioneers. Craig Patrick and Tristan Broz are happy, for sure. Tommy Novak, not so much.
