The Blackhawks have announced the death of former player and beloved broadcast analyst Troy Murray, who died Saturday at age 63. No cause of death was announced but Mr. Murray had been battling cancer for five years.
Mr. Murray played 15 NHL seasons, 12 with the Blackhawks, scoring 230 career goals with 354 assists and a plus-53 in 915 games. He was awarded the Selke trophy as the league's best defensive forward in 1986 and received Selke votes in eight seasons.
Mr. Murray worked as a radio and television broadcast analyst for the Blackhawks for 27 years, through the 2024-25 season.
Mr. Murray played 13 regular-season and 12 playoff games with the Penguins in 1995.
