A terrific game Sunday between the Ducks and Golden Knights at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., with the Ducks winning 4-3 to even the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.
Anaheim finally got its power play going — 0 for 11 through the first three games — scoring on two of four opportunities. In a game with just 44 total shots, many were high-danger and Lukas Dostal made many of the ten-bell variety to keep the Ducks ahead or tied until Alex Killorn and Ian Moore built a 4-2 lead.
Tomas Hertl scored with the goalie pulled to get Vegas within one with 1:04 left, but the Ducks defended well to close it out. Mitch Marner starred for Vegas, assisting on all three goals, including a second-period tally by Brett Howden, his playoff-leading seventh.
The series now moves to Las Vegas for Game 5, with Game 6 back at the Honda Center.
My take: Game 3 was something of a dud, but the other three games have been terrific — fast, physical, skiled. The Ducks benefited Sunday from Vegas goalie Carter Hart playing like he was still a Flyer, but get shots on goal and good things happen.
