It seems Braves outfielder and DH Jurickson Profar may not have learned his lesson. Multiple reports indicate Profar has failed a PED test for the second consecutive year and will be suspended 162 games.
Profar, 33, was suspended 81 games last year for failing a PED test on March 31, when human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) was found in his results, a testosterone enhancing substance. Profar claimed at the time he would never knowingly take something that would violate the leagues PED policy.
Profar played 80 games for the Braves after the suspension in 2025, posting a .787 OPS with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs in 371 plate appearances.
My take: Either he's lying or he has bad people around him. Either way, he's cooked. Any MLB team moving forward would insist on multiple independent drug tests, but after two consecutive failed tests, he's banned for life on a third one. That's a lot of risk.
