Three Astros pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter Monday against the Rangers at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Tex.
Tatsuya Imai started and threw six innings, walking four; Steven Okert walked one batter in the seventh inning; and Alimber Santa, making his major-league debut, tossed two clean innings to make history.
It was the first no-hitter in MLB since September 4, 2024, when the Cubs had three pitchers combine to blank the Pirates.
My take: A bit unusual for a no-hitter with just four combined strikeouts — 23 balls in play and not one dropped in. That last K was a beauty, though. What a pitch by a kid in his debut.
