Rashee Rice completed his 30-day jail sentence for violation of his probation related to a multi-car crash he created on May 30, 2024. He was released Tuesday from Dallas County Jail. Rice's probations violation was testing positive for THC.
There has been no word from the NFL if Rice will face discipline related to the probation violation. It would have to be for violation of the personal conduct policy because the cause of the violation is not punishable — the NFL amended its substances of abuse policy in 2021, allowing marijuana and related THC products during the offseason, though the players are criminally subject to state laws regarding those products.
My take: Andy Reid continues to publicly support Rice, but Rice doesn't clearly share Reid's team-first mentality. There were things he couldn't do while on parole. He didn't care. Did what he wanted. Caveat emptor.
