The National Hockey League finally saw fit for the Oilers and Ducks to start their playoff series and it was a tale of alternating periods at Rogers Place in Edmonton. The Oilers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes, only to have the Ducks answer with three goals in the second period. Jason Dickinson tied it for Edmonton with 8:30 left in the game, and old friend Kasperi Kapanen scored his second of the game with just 1:54 remaining to scratch out a 4-3 win:
My take: The Oilers were the better team throughout, but the Ducks were stubborn, refused to go away, and made the most of their chances — ya know, actually getting their shot attempts on goal (ahem). Likely Oilers in 5, based on the talent disparity, but it could be entertaining all the same.
